The Municipality of Agrigento has revoked the assignment of the engineer Paolo Di Loreto, involved in the “Pandora” operation, which led among other things to the arrest of the mayor of Tremestieri Etna and another dozen people, including which, in fact, the professional.

The body, through a provision signed by the manager of the Public Works sector Alberto Avenia, having acknowledged that “the conditions for revocation are met” has ordered to cancel the last extension of Di Loreto’s assignment, dating back to February 2024.

A task that commits the municipal coffers to pay the engineer just over 38 thousand euros to “follow the process necessary for the completion of the training procedures within the current urban planning instrument”, all obviously “considering the small organic plan assigned and available” of the urban planning sector. An assignment that has been extended several times to this day. The events that led to Di Loreto’s arrest by the Catania police have, according to what is known so far, no local consequences.
