The governor of Calabria Roberto Occhiuto reached an area near his hometown, Paola, today be able to pay homage to the Patron Saint of Calabria, San Francesco di Paola. The President of the Region in fact reached the Paola Sanctuary for the celebrations in honor of the Saint: Occhiuto therefore participated in thelighting of the votive lamp which marks a solemn moment for all the faithful and – more generally – for all Calabrians.
Occhiuto, after the lighting, left a message for all citizens and addressed a prayer to the Saint: “the votive lamp was lit in honor of San Francesco di Paola, patron saint of Calabria. There is still a lot to do to build a new Calabria. Saint Francis, give strength to the Calabrians, and above all to those among them who have more responsibility because they lead them, to build the new Calabria without being caught up in the temptation of discouragement and resignation. Give the Calabrians the strength to fight as you did against evil, against the evil of ignorance, of distrust, of disappointment that nothing changes.”
