Fattoria Project”: the valorisation activity of Ragusano Dop concluded

Millions of consumers have better understood the peculiarities of the historic Ragusano DOP cheese. Reached by an intense promotional campaign, online and offline (from websites to Google and Meta ads, from paper newspapers to the main regional TV channels and in the slots made available by Sky, to the bright banners at the arrivals of Catania airport). Thanks to the second edition of the “Farm Project”, financed by the Sicilian Region as part of the Rural Development Program 2014-2022, submeasure 3.2, it was possible to pursue the ambitious objective of promoting the unique qualities of this cheese and supporting the activities of local producers.
The “Progetto di Fattoria”, born from the collaboration between Progetto Natura and Occhipinti Latticini di Fattoria, represented a collective commitment to enhance Ragusano DOP, an authentic treasure of the Sicilian dairy tradition. A cheese that is not just a gastronomic delicacy, but a symbol of history, tradition and artisanal passion. This morning the final event with also a final conference and tasting moments preceded by guided tours of the production facilities where participants had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of dairy production, discovering the secrets of its creation and the love dedicated to every shape. The closing conference represented the culmination of this journey, with enlightening interventions by various representatives of the political, institutional and agricultural world. The central heart of the campaign, conceived and created by the MediaLive agency with photos by Marcello Bocchieri and video images by Gianni Licitra, was naturally the Ragusano Dop cheese, the cheese that “makes everyone agree” because it is suitable for children as it is excellent and nutritious snack, for adults for special occasions or for daily use at the table, but also for the elderly as a complete meal combined with carbohydrates. And the campaign, also through the website www.progettodifattoria.it, underlined these messages, relaunching attention on the production of an excellent and certified product. And among the topics covered during the final conference, marketing strategies on social media and innovation in the communication of the production process to adapt to the needs of modern consumers stand out. By thus supporting local producers, the commitment of “Progetto di Fattoria” has made it possible to create value not only for the product, but also for the agricultural communities that are its custodians. Among those who spoke this morning were the mayor of Ragusa, Peppe Cassì, the regional deputies Nello Dipasquale and Giorgio Assenza, the councilor for Economic Development of Ragusa, Giorgio Massari, the director of the Ragusano Dop Consortium, Enzo Cavallo, the president of Legacoop South Sicily, Giovanni Rollo. Speakers were Salvatore Cascone, director of Progetto Natura, Giuseppe Cascone in the dual role of owner of the Occhipinti Latticini di Fattoria company and president of the Ragusano Dop Consortium, Carlo Catanossi president of Natura e Qualità, Giorgio Ragusa, coordinator of the “Progetto di Fattoria ”, Carmelo Saccone of the communication agency MediaLive. Closing the proceedings, representing the Region, was Giorgio Carpenzano, chief executive of the Agriculture Inspectorate of Ragusa. “Progetto di Fattoria” marked an important chapter in the promotional activity of Ragusano DOP, but the journey does not end here because we will continue with other actions dedicated to this Sicilian gastronomic excellence, ready to conquer new palates.
