No more camel rides, entrances to zoos, orca and dolphin shows in water parks and no more promotions of shows that use animals to entertain tourists. EasyJet has said enough to all this, adopting a new policy on animal welfare.

The well-known low-cost airline, which manages the tour operator easyJet Holidays, has chosen to promote a cruelty-free tourism. He communicated this in a press note, pledging to “only offer experiences that do not threaten the well-being or conservation of animals and their important role in the global ecosystem”.

The guidelines of the new company policy were drawn up in consultation with international animal rights organizations, including World Animal Protection and PETA. The objective is to raise awareness of travelers and partners, educating them to respect all forms of life.

For this reason, activities that involve the use of animals in captivity will no longer be sponsored and therefore cannot be purchased through easyJet Holidays. including sporting events involving them.

We are passionate about protecting and respecting all forms of nature in the destinations where we offer holidays, which is why we have decided not to offer or promote attractions that may exploit animals within our tour and activity program” commented Matt Callaghan, Chief Operating Officer of easyJet Holidays.

The tour operator, which is growing strongly in the United Kingdom, will from now on support even more responsible travel to also listen to the requests and preferences of travelers who use the service.

Our research tells us that sustainable travel experiences are important to our customers,” continued Callaghan.

There are many experiences to have on holiday, but they should never include animals. It is precisely the main tourist destinations that encourage attractions with animals and consequent mistreatment.
