the art gallery involved in a higher education study

Cesena looks to the future and, in view of the future Art Gallery of Palazzo Oir, works on the training and specialization of museum operators on the topic of deposit management. Among the ten museums, of different ownership, which will participate with two professionals in the training course in management of goods in storage, there is also the Municipal Art Gallery of Cesena (via Aldini, 26). The artistic-cultural center of Cesena is part of the selection of applications received following the call promoted by the Cultural Heritage Sector of the Emilia-Romagna Region between February and March 2024. The course will be held by two trainers of the RE-ORG Method, who will alternate frontal teaching with presentation of national and international case studies, and four experts from Canada, Mexico, France, who will delve into the topic at an international level.

In addition to the municipal art gallery of Cesena, the museums that will participate are: the Casa del Suono and the Casa Natale Arturo Toscanini Museum, both in Parma, the Museum of Paleontology of the University of Modena and Reggio-Emilia in Modena, Imola Museums, the “Graziano Campanini” Civic Art Gallery – “Le Scuole” of Pieve di Cento, Classis Ravenna – Museum of the city and territory of Ravenna, the “Carlo Venturini” Cultural Center and the Adolfo Bonvicini Fruit Growing Museum of Massa Lombarda, and the Francesco Baracca Museum of Lugo.

The course will begin with a preliminary study of museum deposits carried out thanks to inspections in museums, organized starting next week. Subsequently, the meetings will be structured following a module that includes a first training day in person in Bologna, dedicated to the valorisation of the collections in storage; a second investigative phase organized into teams, and a third planning phase for the drafting of a reorganization plan for one or more storage areas of your museum. The final phase, carried out in the field, involves the reorganization of a storage space at one of the participating museums, with the contribution of all the teams. The works will start on May 3rd, will continue from May 7th to June 4th and will conclude in October.
