“There is no regulation to refer to”

«Dehors issue. Azione Trani invites the municipal administration and the competent department to clarify a problem that has been going on for some time and which cannot be resolved”: this is stated by Domenico Briguglio of Azione Trani.

«The eviction orders have started for some and in our opinion others will arrive because the truth is that there is no Regulation to which the operators can refer.

You can’t dismiss them by saying you have to dismantle the dehors, because if the business owner then wanted to install another one he couldn’t because there are currently no guidelines.

In fact, a regulation exists, dated 2017, at the Suap. It was approved by the city council at his time, but did not find the approval of the superintendency. Therefore all the operators who have been authorized following this regulation should in fact not be in compliance.

In fact, the hardest obstacle to overcome is the superintendence which in this case, and not only, is the master. Because requests for the installation of dehors must also be addressed to the Superintendency which has 90 days to respond. Yet the Superintendency was recently granted the rooms of the State Archives of Trani to also safeguard the Archive itself (if we really want to be honest ).

Traders who are about to raise their voices and many would like to demonstrate immediately. They fear further ordinances. The reference is not specifically to the latest arrivals, but to what could happen soon.

The request for eviction, in fact, is alarming everyone. Moreover, the period is favorable for merchants given the upcoming holidays and initiatives: 25 April, 1 May, Croce di Colonna and the arrival of the Frecce tricolori on 12 May.

It is absurd to ask businesses to dismantle their terraces during this period. It means not reading your own city and territory. It means penalizing citizens or rather themselves.

By not granting an extension while waiting to draw up the new regulation or at least the guidelines, the administration penalizes the economic fabric of the city. Hence the question?

Why has the municipality, with a regular announcement, set up a technical table aimed at drafting the Regulation on dehors if, while waiting for the same, an extension is not granted to the operators to be able to regularize? Hence the invitation that Azione Trani addresses to all operators, namely to network and bring to the next meeting of the technical table one of their representatives capable of bringing the requests most suited to their activities and avoiding increases and sanctions.

A city that really wants to be “touristy” must equip itself with concrete and non-random services. And among the services there is also and above all the welcome of tourists, and not only that, even in the premises, the possibility of being able to eat or sit at a table comfortably and in a comfortable environment with “sea view” and not with “view cars” (of course there are no parking lots). We know well that the mayor is aware of this whole situation and that the new manager has recently arrived at the Suap office.

We therefore ask as Trani Action to extend any initiative while waiting for the new regulation in order to avoid the lowering of other shutters because there are already so many. I would like to inform you that the official Facebook page of Azione – TRANI is online.”
