The state police releases the new identikit of Giovanni Motisi, the last great fugitive protagonist of the massacre phase of Cosa Nostra, whose searches continue unabated. Taking advantage of the professionalism and advanced technologies of the Scientific Police Service of the State Police, some images of the fugitive, dating back to the 1980s and the end of the 1990s, were “revisited” and updated using the Age Progression technique.
Technique which consists in progressive physiognomic aging, starting from the study and updating of some specific anthropometric profiles that characterize the family to which the requested person belongs. A prototype was thus created with some possible variations of the current features of Motisi’s face u tacky, already sentenced to life imprisonment.
This is a further attempt to tighten the circle of investigations to achieve his capture. In hiding since 1998, Motisi is included in the list of “highly dangerous” fugitives in the “special research program” of the Ministry of the Interior. The new identikit will facilitate the work of the investigators of the Central Operational Service and of the Palermo flying squad, but it will also be useful, the police hopes, to solicit the collaboration of citizens.
