An intervention as decisive as it was emotional in which Macchia on live TV not only reassured the square by instilling courage and security but also showing the human side, the suffering, the weaknesses of those who love the red and blue colours. The decision to send Marchionni and Varrà away was not expected, it arrived hot at the end of the match but taken with equal certainty: “We already said a few weeks ago that the necessary points had to be scored, it’s obvious that after four games in which you only score one point, I felt the need to do something even though it was close to the end of the championship.
