At the end of April, for eight years now, the Slow Food Youth Network, the Slow Food youth network, has been promoting “World Disco Soup Day”, a day to fight food waste and the climate crisis. This year the main theme of the day, scheduled for Saturday 27 April, is “Save our food, save our planet!”, with a focus on how the reduction of food waste can contribute to the containment of polluting emissions. Cuneo is ahead of the game with an event that on Sunday will involve over 150 students, teachers and parents of the Monsignor Andrea Fiore and Sacra Famiglia institute on Corso Dante. It is promoted by the Slow Food convivium of Cuneo and valleys with the support of numerous partners. Conviviality, recycled foods and music are the main ingredients of the day, as per international standards.

In the morning, the nursery school students will participate in a cooking workshop with an animated narration of the story “The place of stories” and the preparation of a mousse without cooking under the supervision of the Nova Coop team, while the primary and secondary school students first grade students will prepare a bread cake with chocolate and stale bread and will be busy setting up the tables.

At 12.30 there will be a self-service lunch, which will include soup with vegetables and cereals, as per the name of the event. In the afternoon, at 4pm, closing with music with entertainment by Professor Michele Cera and the students.
