Rome, 18 April. (askanews) – The telemedicine of the future is now a reality. The first of seven Health Boxes where it will be possible to carry out visits or health checks without necessarily reaching the large structures in the city was delivered to a small town in Sicily – Bompensiere. Developed by the Swiss company Wealty SA and authorized by the Ministry of Health, the box allows remote medical teleconsultations and tele-reported exams, without waiting lists and in total safety and privacy. Fabio Pasquali, Sole Director of Wealty SA: “It is a hybrid system – he explains – which brings together physical and cloud to bring people closer to periodic checks and simplify the interactions between patient and doctor. The Health box effectively responds to three great needs that we experience in Italy but I would say also in many Countries in the world that are often geographical isolation that leads to distance from doctors, with the structures, costs and expectations that we know well, and then the targeted search for specialists sometimes also to get second opinions on some pathologies. With a size of approximately 190 by 90, it is a sort of Mobile Clinic where inside you have the possibility of carrying out checks alone or with the support of specialized personnel (in particular for some checks such as electrocardiogram or other checks ) and the real novelty of this health box is the technological system, the research that has employed many specialists in nine years of work. Not only to get to what it is today but also to all the authorization aspects that a medical device naturally must have.” “The difference of our system – he underlines – is the possibility, while carrying out the checks, at the same time to show the outcome of these checks to the doctor: therefore not sending them or sending a file. Change the possibility of interacting. It is as if we were inside a doctor’s office and we have the possibility of measuring ourselves with a stethoscope, the electrocardiogram or with the spirometer or with otoscopy immediately as if the doctor were next to us and therefore the possibility of adjusting the our control, to ask us for further analyses. All in a very short time even over very long distances”. But there’s more: “If I want a second opinion for a family member or on my pathology and the specialist is on the other side of the world, I have the possibility to contact him and our telemedicine system applied to our box gives the other doctor on the other side of the world the immediate possibility of entering the system on a platform without having any software or any particular application”. The boxes, easy to use , they move on wheels, they will be positioned inside municipal structures, in schools, infirmaries: places that are still easy to access for the public. The company’s order book is equal to 500,000 euros for 7 health boxes being delivered with an expected turnover for 2024 of approximately 1 million Euros for projects already presented by the Municipalities and included in the ranking with the Decree (PNRR Mission 5)”The towns that have joined today are Bompensiere, Riesi, Salaparuta, Canicattì, that is – underlines Pasquali – places where the citizens find themselves having to wait 45 minutes/an hour to get a check-up, perhaps for an electrocardiogram, having to wait and then going back, often with the help of a family member.” “This first delivery is very important for us because there are many other municipalities and cities who want to come and directly see the experience, which we have already tested in other countries too, but who with the launch of the Pnrr also see a great opportunity with mission number 6 which is coming soon , and those that will take turns”, he concludes.
