FANO – Extremely costly administrative action against a gaming and betting room, where two minors were identified. The owner of the business, which is located in the historic center of Fano, will therefore have to pay a fine of approximately 6,700 euros. It is one of the results achieved by the recent high-impact operation, which consists of a series of extraordinary services implemented by the police.
Prevention
Their more specific objective is to prevent and combat drug dealing, alcohol abuse, acts of vandalism and various types of damage: all behaviors that are usually associated with youth distress. The officers of the Fano police station, the local police personnel and the finance dog unit were involved.
A young man of foreign origins, who was near the train station, was instead reported to the judicial authorities for possession of a switchblade. An eye was kept on the more central neighborhoods and areas of the city, but the control network also extended to the outskirts. A sifting work which also involved Pincio, Piazza Amiani, the gardens of the Malatesta fortress, the hamlet of Bellocchi, and which made it possible to remove 35 grams of narcotic substances from the possession of 16 young people, who were then reported to the Prefecture for possession of drugs intended for ‘personal use.
The same administrative measure adopted against two students, who arrived at the Pincio on public transport. Both boys, who were going to school, had some hashish with them: 4 grams in total, discovered during the check carried out on board the two buses. During the high-impact operation, 6 public businesses, 49 vehicles and 220 people were checked. An expulsion procedure from Italy has been activated.
Furthermore, the policemen from the Fano police station, coordinated by the deputy commissioner Stefano Seretti, noticed a small group made up of about ten minors, who had gathered around a cigarette vending machine, always in the historic center and always during school hours.
Kids’ cigarettes
Intrigued, the agents approached and discovered that the kids were buying packs of cigarettes, using the health cards registered in their parents’ name (some active, others expired) or lost by complete strangers. The trick allowed the students to help themselves, without having to resort to an adult and compliant friend who bought the cigarettes for them. The parents were called to the police station to return their health cards, accompanied by an invitation to pay more attention.
