BOLZANO. Measured on a scale of 0 to 100, willingness to help each other each other on workplace in South Tyrol is similar across all sectors and is almost exactly on par with the EU average of 77 points, an undoubtedly positive result. The ones who help each other more often are the artisans (84 points). This is what emerges from an investigation that theEuregio and its partner institutes, the Tyrolean Chamber of Labor, the Ipl – Institute for the Promotion of Workers and the Trentino Employment Agency, following the European model of the Eurofound Working Conditions Survey (EWCS), which takes place every five years across Europe, they led together through 4,500 interviews (1,500 per territory).
Based on these data, the occupational psychologist Tobias Hölbling drafted the research report “Sectoral focus: social interaction in the workplace in Alto Adige” presented today during a press conference held at Palazzo Widmann, the results of which offer interesting food for thought on the social fabric of the world of work and raise questions about culture and the working environment. Since within the health and social services contact with customers is much more difficult compared to other sectors and the pressure work is high, a fifth of the employees in this sector declared that they had been approached aggressively by colleagues, bosses and customers/patients in the month/year preceding the survey: if you consider that the second sector of this special “ranking” is that of the sector hotel and of catering at 9%, that’s a pretty stark difference. If we consider the main inter-sectoral professional groups, we note that artisans help each other much more often than other professional groups, leading the ranking with 84 points out of 100. In second place are therefore services and trade with 79 points, while closing the the podium are the intellectual professions (77).
