“We will have the primaries in the first round”

“We have two candidates from the center-left and we will actually have the primaries in the first round.” Thus the mayor of Bari, Antonio Decaro, speaking in Potenza with journalists on the situation for the municipal elections of the Apulian capital on 8 and 9 June. Decaro is in Potenza to participate in an electoral initiative for the Lucanian regional elections on 21 and 22 April in support of the centre-left gubernatorial candidate, the dem Piero Marrese. In Bari the candidates Michele Laforgia (M5S) and Vito Leccese (Pd) “fortunately made an agreement: a pact – highlighted Decaro – of non-belligerence and an agreement to campaign together for the run-off. I – added the outgoing mayor – would have preferred a unitary choice, I tried to work on it for six months, but the situation didn’t allow it. However, the agreement they made yesterday allows us to carry out an electoral campaign divided but to arrive united and then continue to govern the city of Bari”, concluded Decaro who confirmed that he will be a candidate for the European elections.
