ends 2-2 between Feralpisalò and Brescia, relegation close for the Garda players

As often happens in football, when neither team needs a draw, the result is punctually displayed on the wheel. The derby between Feralpisalò and Brescia, in the rain in Piacenza (which didn’t help the capacity data: 4506 spectators, fewer than expected), is fun and vibrant: it ends 2-2, with no winners or losers, but the the greatest regret is for the people of Garda, who with a victory could have made the comeback possible. It’s still possible, mathematically speaking, but if they don’t win on Sunday in Venice (fighting for Serie A) president Pasini’s team will return to Serie C after a year of residence among the cadets.

For Maran’s men, however, the draw cost the move from seventh to eighth position, but still firmly in the play off zone with a two-point margin over Reggiana and Sudtirol. On Sunday, by beating the already relegated Lecco in Mompiano, the certainty of the goal achieved could even arrive.

The match was beautiful in the first half. Maran, without Adorni, chose 3-5-2 inserting both Papetti and Mangraviti: Bjarnason, on the bench, paid the price. Speculating the module chosen by Zaffaroni, who relied on Felici’s verve on the right and it paid off. But first, already in the fourth minute, the goal gave Brescia the lead with a soft ball from Mangraviti and the perfect diving twist from captain Bisoli (Pizzignacco was unprepared, diving in late). However, the reaction of the Leoni del Garda was prompt: in the 9th minute, from a combined action Dubickas-Felicithe goal of the former was born, which he put into the net with the big plate after Lezzerini’s save on his teammate.

Feralpi did better: in the 18th minute, a double miracle from Lezzerini on Felici’s header and above all, with his foot, on Balestrero’s tap in. Then the chance devoured in the 25th minute by Dubickas was sensational, who first took the ball away from Papetti (difficult back pass by Bertagnoli, it had already happened in the match in Parma) and then completely missed the touch underneath one-on-one with Lezzerini. However, the 2-1 came in the 29th minute: great goal from La Mantiawho towers into the area (clearly anticipated by Mangraviti) on Letizia’s brilliant cross from the left. Here Brescia shakes itself: sensational post by Bianchi in the 36th minute, who shoots with first intention after a high exit from Pizzignacco. In the 39th minute Cistana takes everyone’s time at the near post, but shoots to the outside of the net. Finally the 2-2, this is yet another goal conceded by Feralpi from a free kick: in the 42nd minute Cistana reaches the near post and Bisoli, even if the last touch goes to Papettiscores on the second.

In the second half, Brescia was not very lively and Feralpisalò, on the hour mark, began to press on the accelerator to look for the winning goal. There are prairies for Happy peopleblocked twice from a good position: then, after a chance on the foot of Van de Looi which forces Pizzignacco to make a double intervention, only opportunities for the green and blues, who have the good ball in the 34th minute with the newly introduced Compagnon, author of a quick start thwarted one-on-one with Lezzerini by a seriously insufficient right foot. In the 37th minute, from a corner, Pietrelli’s imperious cut and the ball goes wide. Feralpi still insists, without however worrying Lezzerini. Maran, with the little he has at his disposal, keeps the point: it is the third consecutive draw, his team have not won since the 3-1 against Pisa on 6 April. Feralpi has not won any victories since April 1st in Cremona: the very last train passes Sunday to Venice, not even a victory (in any case mandatory) would guarantee avoiding arithmetic relegation with 90 minutes to spare.
