Sanremo. «The union Usppincreasingly a point of reference for the penitentiary officers of Sanremo, met with the Undersecretary of Justice Andrea Delmastro at the end of the visit to the Valle Armea prison.

It was an opportunity to personally verify the working conditions of the Penitentiary Police – declared Guido Pregnolato, USPP regional secretary – several problems to be addressed, first of all the lack of staff: the staffing plan must absolutely be reviewed so that all the officers can work peacefully.

The real emergency, however, is another. According to the USPP union, the prison must be included in the list of disadvantaged locations. The Sanremo prison is located far from everything, difficult to connect to and the officers who work there are too penalised. We have delivered a document to the Undersecretary – adds Pregnolato – asking him to review the situation of Sanremo by making it a disadvantaged location in order to offer staff a greater incentive to compensate for the hardship at work. At a regional level we have proposed the establishment of a dog detachment – concludes the trade unionist – underlining the importance of this service for the activity of combating the illicit introduction of narcotic substances into Ligurian prisons”.
