The CSV Cosenza office was inaugurated at Unical

The orientation and promotion point for volunteering has been inaugurated at the residential center of the University of Calabria Csv Cosenza.

The active desk at the University is a place where students can find information on volunteering and learn about all the opportunities offered by the third sector. The space, granted by Unical to CSV on free loan for use, will host seminars and training courses for the associations that already operate on the Arcavacata Campus and educational workshops.

The president of the Service Center cut the ribbon, Gianni Romeo and the pro-rector Patrizia Piro. Unical professors were also present Maria Teresa Nardo, Vincenzo Fortunato, Carlo De Rose And Antonio Samà and various representatives of the world of associations and the Cosenza third sector.

«It is a very important moment, not from a formal point of view, but a substantial one – declared Patrizia Piro – we worked hard to achieve this goal. It was important have a fixed point of the CSV in Unical to be able to respond to our third mission. The CSV can help the university to be a witness in the territory in an authoritative way to become, together, multipliers of opportunities”.

The president of CSV Cosenza is satisfied, Gianni Romeounderlining how «with the University of Calabria we have created three publications, signed two agreements, worked on training and we are sure that we will carry out many other initiatives together».

For the Vice President of the Service Center, Gregorio Crudothe desk will be the home of the third sector at the University of Calabria.

«We will turn to students not only to promote the opportunity of civil service, but also to enhance volunteering». Then remembering Sergio Principea leading figure in the Cosenza third sector, who passed away in 2022 and former vice-president of the Service Centre: «today Sergio would have been happy to see this sanctuary of hope which embodies the values ​​of volunteering».
