The two victims, however, they didn’t fall into the trap pretending, in both cases, very promptly, to request the intervention of the police to investigate the alleged accident. That was enough to do desist the scammer from his intent because he was aware that careful investigations would have shown that in reality no accident had occurred.

But walking away wasn’t enough for the boy to escape his responsibilities as the victims they also managed to detect the license plate number of his vehicle, which they provided to the Carabinieri of Ro Ferrarese when they filed a complaint. Precisely thanks to the insights into the license plate, the military personnel quickly managed to close the circle, tracing the identity of the fraudster.
