Aversa (Caserta) – Appropriated by Ministry of Culture the funds intended for the restoration of the Maddalena church and the contiguous cloister of San Bernardino in Aversa. The deputy announced it Gimmi Cangianomember of the Culture Commission of the Chamber.

“Funds are still arriving from the Ministry of Culture – explains the parliamentarian – to finance very important interventions for our region and our province. As many as 34 million euros, in addition to the 800 million already allocated for the design Pnrr. It is a considerable figure, which will concern approximately 125 recovery and valorization projects under the three-year plan of Public Works 2024-2026″.

“The interventions – specifies Cangiano – will have different directions: archaeological heritage, arts and landscape, museums and archives. Among the financed projects, we also find those that will affect Santa Maria Capua Vetere e Cellole, for the recovery of archaeological sites present in the territories. And yet an investment of 400 thousand euros will be allocated to Alife for the recovery and enhancement of the ancient city walls dating back to Roman times. Without forgetting the funds intended for the restoration of the Maddalena church and the cloister of San Bernardino ad Aversa”.

“Never before has so much attention been paid to our province and its archaeological, artistic, landscape and cultural treasures. Never had so much funding targeted our cities”, underlines the deputy, for whom these interventions are “concrete proof of the closeness of the Meloni government to our Region and the sensitivity of the minister Gennaro Sangiuliano with respect to our requests and the needs of our territories to recover all the beauty they carry within them to be able to show it to the world”.

THE CLOISTER – Contiguous to the church of Maddalena, inside the former mental hospital complex in via Linguiti, owned by the Caserta local health authority, the cloister of San Bernardino had practically disappeared under the spontaneous vegetation that had grown over the years. In 2017, the health company began a recovery activity of the Maddalena, which began with the reclamation of the cloister: hence the discovery of the existing well inside. On that occasion our late historic collaborator of Pupia.Tv, Antonio Arduinocreated a video report in the company of Dr Nicola Cunto, psychiatrist, director of the “Le Reali Case de’ Matti” study center.
