the May Day rally will stop in Poppi

Arezzo’s May Day will once again be dedicated to motors and vintage. Labor Day will be characterized by the traditional gathering VespArezzo which, now in its twenty-third edition, will bring together hundreds of Vespa enthusiasts from Italy and abroad for a day dedicated to aggregation, fun and discovery of the area. A colorful caravan of Wasp of every era and every model will be directed towards Poppi, with the aim of proposing an ideal artistic and cultural connection between the city that gave birth to Giorgio Vasari and the village that hosted the great poet Dante Alighieri, thus paying homage two personalities strongly connected to the province of Arezzo.

The VespArezzo, promoted by the Vespa Club Arezzo with the patronage of the Municipalities of Arezzo and Poppi, constitutes one of the most important and popular meeting opportunities for fans of this iconic means of transport, with the presence also of club representatives from countries such as Belgium, France and Switzerland. The meeting on Wednesday 1 May is scheduled for 8.00 am at Prato di Arezzo for the delivery of the kits, for breakfast, for the blessing of Don Alvaro Bardelli and for the greeting of the sports councilor Federico Scapecchi, then the Vespa enthusiasts will start their engines for a parade through the streets of the historic city center and for a tourist tour towards the Casentino. The first stop will be in the gardens adjacent to the Poppi castle where participants will be able to visit one of the most beautiful villages in Italy dominated by the ancient manor of the Guidi Counts, then there will be an aperitif and awards ceremony. The day, supported by the main sponsors Atam and Assicurazioni Generali Minozzi, will find its epilogue at 1.30 pm with a lunch based on local flavors organized by the Pro Loco of Poppi which will end with the final farewells and goodbye to the twenty-fourth edition of 2025 The May Day rally will be anticipated on Tuesday 30 April by the opening of the stands in the Prato for registrations and by a convivial dinner to propose an initial meeting; for further information you can visit the website www.vespaclubarezzo.it.

«The VespArezzo 2024 – he reiterates Roberto Sestini, president of the Vespa Club Arezzo, – will stop in Casentino: the connection between Arezzo and Poppi will be an opportunity to pay homage to the genius of Vasari with a journey through his city and to symbolically take him to the castle that hosted Dante. The gathering is now the most iconic event of May Day in Arezzo and, year after year, the route varies to introduce ever-changing corners of the territory on the back of a Vespa which will thus return to being an instrument of aggregation, fun, sociality and local tourism development».
