Sol 2024 in Verona, oil in all its forms

Together with Vinitaly, Sol di Verona has begun, an international exhibition dedicated to the olive supply chain with large participation of visitors and buyers

Remarkable turnout at Sol 2024the international olive oil exhibition in Verona, confirmed by the exhibitors who found considerable interest from the public. Oils from all over Italy, monovarietal, organic and more. In fact, in addition to extra virgin olive oil, many exhibitors also offered table olives and many flavored oils. Strong presence of the Abruzzo, Sicily and Calabria regions which exhibited with the participation of manufacturing companies, oil mills and companies specialized in the food sector.

Monovarietals from all over Italy

The objective is to stimulate the consumer to appreciate the varietal differences of the different oils for a better valorisation of the territorial characteristics.

Artificial intelligence for communication

Among the protection consortia there was also that ofRome IGP oil. This protection consortium, recently founded in 2022, has 500 members throughout the Lazio region. Precisely on the occasion of Sol, the consortium presented his “avatar”, Olivio Romano. This application of artificial intelligence works like a virtual assistant dedicated to Olio di Roma PGI, able to understand visitors’ questions and respond in all the languages ​​of the world.

Organic oil

Organic olive cultivation is widespread throughout the peninsula. There are many companies present that bottle extra virgin olive oil as organic. Among the many exhibitors from this point of view Calabria emerged which holds a percentage of organic surface area among the highest in Italy, more than 35% of the surface used.

Condiments for all tastes

It turned out the presence of flavored condiments based on extra virgin olive oil is notable. Different production methods are found among producers, from the use of essential oils to add to extra virgin olive oil, to the pressing of olives together with fruits (mainly citrus fruits) or aromatic herbs.
