Olbia. The Porto Rotondo sports club, with the patronage and support of the Municipality of Olbia, organizes the event “Fencing city of Olbia: 2nd Gallura Trophy” on Thursday April 25, 2024 at the 1st Circolo Olbia Educational Management Gym, in Via Alessandro Nanni, 13.
The “Fencing City of Olbia” 2nd Trofeo Gallura event aims to add a further element to the objectives set by the Porto Rotondo sports club: to bring fencing to the city of Olbia. We read in a press note: “For two years, we have planned, planned and then started a process of introducing the most awarded Italian sport at Olympic and Paralympic level to the city. This sporting event will bring competitive fencing to the city”.
“The event aims to give the opportunity to those who have never seen a live fencing competition to fully appreciate it, enjoying all its nuances, its timing and the emotions it manages to give. As a first approach, we decided to aim for a demonstration competition with the effigy of the FIS (Italian Fencing Federation), represented in Sardinia by its delegate Avv. Gianmarco Tavolacci, and then aspire, in the short term, to organize a competition foreseen by the regional calendar and in a second half a national/international competition. We will have the presence of 2 representatives coming from Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia: the Società Ginnastica Triestina Sez. Fencing and the Treviso Fencing M° Ettore Geslao from Veneto young athletes participating in the National and European championships. The various Fencing Clubs of Sardinia will also be present at the fencing tournament: CUS Cagliari, Sassarese Fencing Club, Cagliari Fencing Club, Athos Weapons Academy, Oristano Fencing Club, Porto Rotondo Sports Centre. concludes the note.
