At the Ariston theater in Trapani on 8 May Bernalda Alba’s house

At the Ariston Theater in Trapani it takes place on Wednesday 8 May, starting at 9.00 pm,

the show “La casa di Bernalda Alba”, by Federico García Lorca, directed by Piero Indelicato.

The event is held in collaboration with the Co.Tu.Le.Vi Association. Against All Violence, and the Rotary Club of Trapani. The protagonists are, once again, Irene Bonanno, Ida Luppino, Alba D’Angelo, Claudia Mangiagli, Emilia Catalano, Oriana Spina, Valentina Stallone, Caterina Schifano and Giusy Gandolfo, with the addition, for this occasion, of Mariella Gulotta and Silvia Rizzo. The adaptation and translation into the Sicilian language were handled by Vincenzo Catanzaro, who recently passed away, to whom the theatrical performance was dedicated.

Set in rural Spain in the 1930s, the show narrates the claustrophobic condition of Bernarda Alba’s five daughters, forced after the death of their father to spend a long period of mourning under their strict maternal rules: the girls are not allowed to go out or have relationships with the opposite sex.

Set design by Guglielmo Barbaresi, Lighting by Peppe Prinzivalli, Audio Franco Giacalone, Special Effects PPS, Assistant director Giacomo Mangiaracina.
