Perugia, school visits to the Pro Ponte headquarters

Perugia, 17 April 2024 – Interest is growing in the scholastic world for a free visit to the Pro Ponte headquarters, a true museum of Etruscan culture and tradition, also appreciated by Costantino D’Orazio during a recent visit.

This time there were 56 pupils from the fifth grade of the D. Birago Comprehensive Institute of Passignano and Tuoro sul Trasimeno who arrived with the teachers and the head teacher Luca Severi.

Marcello, Sandra, Beatrice and Francesca welcomed the guests with volunteers from the association in via Tramontani to make them feel at ease by wearing Etruscan costumes and directing a real parade in the large spaces of the venue, allowing them to “touch” all the reproductions of statues and cinerary urns created by the artisan artists of Pro Ponte, “reborn” in 1994, thirty years ago.

The headquarters can also be visited free of charge by groups of adults, students and scholars by appointment only thanks to the availability of the councilors and members of the association which, day by day, with its initiatives, manages to “contact” many people who are still far away and unaware of how much the area of Ponte San Giovanni and the surroundings of Perugia offer Etruscan culture and finds, many of which are stored in a warehouse in the area of the Volumni Hypogeum awaiting restoration in a space where specialized technicians work every day to restore to its former splendor what the rich subsoil has returned and continues to restore.
