The focus of begins Cremona1 and CremonaOggi dedicated to the speakers of the Diocese located in Cremona, a journey that in the next few weeks will stop in the main city areas while now begins with an in-depth analysis of the past and present together with the President of the Federation of Cremonese Orators Don Francesco Fontana.

In 2024 there will be approximately 14 oratories open daily in the city while there will be 25 officially active parishes; the use of undefined terms depends on the structure recently changed with the creation of the Pastoral Units. In terms of intuition and implementation, says President Focr, the oratory as we know it dates back to the post-war period; in Cremona there are also more recent oratories, built together with neighborhoods that arose from the 1960s onwards.

The peak of participation in the oratory experience was recorded in the Eighties/Nineties, then the situation evolved (for example with the Covid-19 pandemic) which is why the comparison with current events is inappropriate: in reality, underlines Don Fontana, expects that even today these 14 welcoming, free, supervised places are available in the shade of the torrazzo and are joyfully frequented by different generations.
