In recent days, the Guardia di Finanza of Como, during road checks to combat illicit trafficking, stopped a car with a Spanish license plate in Appiano Gentile with three individuals on board, two Spaniards and a Croatian. Suspicious of their nervousness and the lack of luggage, the financiers checked the car and found, hidden inside, a few grams of marijuana, around 28,500 euros in cash and a receipt relating to a shipment of a package from Malaga with destination Legnano.
In light of the elements collected and in the belief that this package could contain another narcotic substance, the military immediately informed the Como Public Prosecutor’s Office who ordered the situation to be investigated further and requested the identification of the recipient of the package. The financiers therefore intercepted the shipment arriving in Italy via courier and at the latter’s warehouses, after having ascertained, with the help of dog units, the presence of the narcotic substance, they proceeded to open the package and found 10 kilos of marijuana.
At this point, with the authorization of the Como Prosecutor’s Office, the Green Basques disguised themselves as couriers and organized a so-called “controlled delivery”. The financiers/couriers therefore went to the address of the recipient indicated on the package, in Legnano and, upon acceptance of the latter, arrested the recipient and seized the entire quantity of drugs. Subsequently, the soldiers searched the arrested man’s home and found further narcotic substances for a total of 20 grams already divided into sachets and ready for sale, in addition to packaging material, a digital scale, an agenda, a smartphone, two sim cards and 300 euros in cash. The man who ended up in handcuffs, of Albanian origin, appears to live in Italy without carrying out any work activity. After consulting the Judicial Authority, the arrested person was taken to the Busto Arsizio prison.
