The letter

“Yesterday, Tuesday 16 April, via Cogorano was invaded by tourists off the ships waiting to board buses for other tourist destinations that were certainly more attractive than Livorno, such as Pisa or Florence.

Fortunately, some tourists decided to visit our city and after passing the Town Hall they headed towards Viale degli Avvalorati. Here next to the San Giovanni Nepumoceno bridge pedestrianized by the five-star administration as an entrance to the characteristic Venice neighborhood we find a tourist sign with the history of the saint and next to it a map of the neighborhood.

Within 10 minutes, groups of tourists heading to the neighborhood stopped to read the sign and map and then photographed the bridge

What’s wrong? The cardboard boxes left along the shoulder of the Medici Canals under the tourist signs. I understand that rubbish exists but on that side of via Avvalorati there is the Medici Canal, there are no activities. The businesses are located on the other side of the road behind the greenery or in via della Madonna, over the bridge and on the other side of the Medici Canal.

That’s not a good place to leave rubbish, maybe it would be better to change it. I wonder if the tourism councilor who has his office just a stone’s throw away has never noticed anything.

If we want tourism, at least let’s keep certain areas decent.
