The electoral political agreement between Forza Italia and Raffaele Lombardo’s Popular and Autonomous Movement is reborn and strengthened, sanctioned today in Rome in a meeting attended not only by the former president of the Lombardo Region but also by the national secretary of Forza Italia Antonio Tajani, the president of the national council of Fi, Renato Schifani and the regional leaders of the two parties, the coordinator Marcello Caruso and the deputy coordinator Riccardo Gallo for Forza Italia and Fabio Mancuso for the movement for Autonomy. For Tajani, «Forza Italia continues on the path of strengthening alliances and collaborations with the political forces rooted in the territories and which move in the wake of the tradition and history of the European People’s Party. A job to give the right visibility and representation to the many realities of our regions, from a unitary and national perspective that aims to make the most of the opportunities offered by Europe and affirm popular and moderate values in Europe”.
«Already in 2014 and 2019 – Lombardo recalls – we had supported Forza Italia’s lists at the European elections with our presence, and today a relationship of political collaboration is confirmed which is the result of the great harmony, esteem and friendship that linked me to the President Silvio Berlusconi.” Caruso underlines the political value of the alliance between Forza Italia and the Movement for Autonomy «which – he states – strengthens the role of all the moderates within the centre-right coalition and lays the foundations for an increasingly fruitful political and institutional collaboration at all institutional levels”.
