Another death at work in Montepulciano, Fiom Cgil: “It happens again in an external company”

“The tube that hit the chest and killed the very young metalworker Manuel Cavanna in Montepulciano, for reasons that are still unclear, also pierced all of us, but despite the disturbing analogy with other deaths at work it does not tear apart the indifference of significant part of the country’s institutions and business class, which appear inexcusably distracted and, ultimately, inexplicably silent – as with the investigations underway for the Esselunga massacre”. Thus begins the statement released by the Fiom Cgil of Siena which wanted to intervene regarding the death of the 23 year old who shocked the local community.

“It is once again a death that strikes a worker from a company outside the one located where the tragic event occurred – continues the union -. The Fiom Cgil of Siena firmly condemns both the hateful practice of increasing profits to the detriment of training and safety, and the silence that clearly surrounds such tragic episodes, especially when companies linked to notables in politics or some lobby appear to be involved, while we mourn another victim of this massacre which (if not wanted) is certainly badly opposed”.
