Taranto – This morning, the Army Corps General Antonio DE VITA, Interregional Carabinieri Commander “Ogaden”Top Command of the Territorial Organization of the Force on which the Campania, Basilicata, Puglia and Abruzzo-Molise Legions depend, visited, for the first time, the Carabinieri Provincial Command of Taranto.
The Provincial Commander of Taranto received him with the honors of the Guard deployed at the entrance to the barracks. Colonel Gaspare GIARDELLI.
The Senior Officer, therefore, met with a representation of all the departments operating in the province, both the territorial organization and the special and forestry one.
On this occasion, Gen. DE VITA also wanted to address a greeting to the National Carabinieri Association, the National Forestry Association, as well as the Professional Associations of a trade union nature among soldiers.
General DE VITA, on the occasion, thanked the Carabinieri for their commitment to the territory, recalling the principles and values on which the daily work of the Carabinieri is based and which must always constitute the genetic heritage of every Carabiniere, available to the the entire community. He also wanted to dedicate a moving memory to the two very young carabinieri, originally from Puglia, who recently lost their lives in service in Campagna (SA), an example of dedication and great attachment to the force.
Following this, the Interregional Commander met with PrefectDr. Paola DESYes and the Chief Prosecutor of the Republic dr. Eugenia PONTASSUGLIA, with whom he discussed the main problems of the territory and the role of the Army in defense of legality.
The Gen. CA DE VITA, commenting on the results of the overall activity carried out, expressed his satisfaction with the commitment that the Taranto Army, in all its components, continues to make in the Ionian territory, in combating all forms of crime, urging them to continue to operate, at every level, with renewed impetus and incisiveness, with the aim of guaranteeing citizens that closeness, an expression of “social reassurance”, which has always represented the main distinctive feature of the Carabinieri in its relationship with communities.
