No real update regarding the approval process of the project for the construction of the new single hospital in the city of Cuneo. And – according to the mayor Patrizia Manassero – it will probably be like this until the end of the summer, once the regional election campaign is over.
The mayor of the capital responded in the first evening of the capital’s April municipal council meeting to a question presented by Giancarlo Boselli (Independent), who pointed the finger at the lack of involvement of the city council from an information point of view: “You had promised to create moments of discussion within the competent council commissions but this was not done” he underlined.
“The proposals to modify the road system linked to the accesses to the new structure, and their insistence on the inhabited area of the hamlet of Confreria, come not from the mayor or the council but from one of the groups constituting the majority – continued Boselli, referring to the hypotheses put forward by the councilor in recent weeks Silvano Enrici (Centre for Cuneo) – . So where does the mayor’s institutional relationship with external actors such as the designer, the Region and the Hospital end? Do you really think you can go on like this?”
Councilors: “We need more involvement”
In the space reserved for councilors’ discussion Beppe Lauria he underlined how “It’s humbling to be a city councilor and discover developments in the newspapers, especially on a topic like this”, also recalling that he was part of the first incarnation of the special commission on the new hospital (“from which I then resigned after realizing that nothing had been achieved independently”).
Ugo Sturlese (Cuneo for Common Goods) underlined the imminent publication of the technical-economic feasibility study on the public-private partnership project signed by Inc Spa and how “the construction of the new hospital with the partnership is still to be defined, especially because to move forward we ‘only’ need to change the Regional Landscape Plan”. “Despite the imagination of Councilor Enrici, there does not seem to be a solution that allows the Municipality, which is responsible for it, to better manage the road system.”.
Also Claudio Bongiovanni (Cuneo Mia) said he is anxiously awaiting the technical-economic specification of the Inc project, thanks to which the costs of the work will be defined more clearly. And she asked “to have faster and more punctual information and no longer be informed of things once they have been decided”.
A specific commission in the next few days
“On the new single hospital – said the mayor – we are at the same point as weeks ago: the bodies questioned recently met to discuss in a preliminary manner and we await the completion of the design with the cost specification, and the definitive assignment of the lot to the Region”.
“We are ready to make our assessments but it is worth underlining that thanks to these preliminary meetings a permanent traffic table has been created (already after two meetings have taken place). In the next few days, regarding the options on road access to the structure, a special commission will be convened” concluded Manassero.
