Every week “The mirror of Piacenza“, a television program curated and hosted by the director Nicoletta Bracchi on Telelibertà, immerses himself in the most authentic and significant stories that characterize the social fabric of the city. The fifteenth episode will be broadcast on Tuesday 30 April, at 8.30 pm, which puts the journalist and writer at the center of the story Giangiacomo Slavesoriginally from Gragnano, former chief reporter and deputy director of Corriere della Sera, where he is still a columnist and owner of the letters column. He also worked at the newspaper Freedom, where he began his career and then continued to Rest of the Pug from Bologna.
In 1987 he arrived at Corriere. For his investigative journey in a camper through the outskirts of Milan he was awarded the prestigious “Ambrogino d’oro” in 2007. An important achievement which not only testifies to Schiavi’s commitment and dedication in carrying forward a investigative journalism of high quality, but also the value and importance of its work in deepening and highlighting the often overlooked challenges and realities of peripheral areas. Among his books we remember, among others, “Controvento” written with Ambrogio Fogar, “Still young to be old”, “Good news”, “Thank goodness. Stories of little heroes who transform the world”, but also “The rebel genius – Luigi Illica a Bohème life” released in 2023.
