Baskin, second day of the Umbria Cup for the Virtus Bastia boys (photo)

The second day of the Baskin Umbria Cup took place on Saturday 13 April for the boys of Virtus Bastia. This time all four teams participating in the championship were present (finally): Virtus Bastia Baskin, Tiferno Baskin, Trasimeno Baskin and Viva Baskin Perugia.

In the beautiful setting of the new Passignano arena, under the orders of referee Macchini, the Bastiola team took to the field to challenge the boys from Città di Castello. The match begins on the edge of balance, with the supporters immediately taking the lead, but Virtus Bastia responds blow for blow and, thanks to the roles “5” and “4” more involved in attack, they also take the lead on the 9 to 8.

The match is balanced until the third quarter when, you want greater freshness and greater shooting precision from the supporters, you want a couple of defensive blunders from Bastia, coach Mearelli’s boys try to escape, even reaching +10. Rossi’s boys, however, aren’t up for it and little by little, ball after ball, they get back down, even reaching -6, without however managing to get the lead. It ends 48 to 42 for Tiferno.

“Another ‘yellow’ report for the team – comments president Calisti – but this clearly takes second place when you see Emanuele smile for the first time, Luca and Andrea make a basket, Giosuè run across the pitch and score. Playing with these guys, seeing them participate in the game is the greatest victory you can have! Having said that, the improvements in the game have been seen, small steps forward are being made, now with a little more shooting precision and greater attention in defense the victory will also come.”
