The February 22, 2019 in the council chamber of Palazzo Giovene, mayor Tommaso Minervini presented the feasibility projects for the shipyards, the new piers for tourism and fishing boats and the redevelopment of the wholesale fish market to sector operators and the city.

Subsequently, the tenders for the construction of these two new works and the awarding of the contract were published. The construction site sign, displayed near the Port Authority, announced the start of work on the 21.07.2023 and today, April 16, 2024, was indicated as the completion date of the works. This morning I checked the announced timetable on site, but I was disappointed because the piers weren’t there yet but… what’s even more serious is having found that the construction site never started.
