At the Academy of Fine Arts, an interesting meeting with the Postal Police of Reggio Calabria. “Reference discipline: fundamentals of computer science” were some of the topics discussed yesterday morning in the school’s Aula Magna, by the director of AbaRc Piero Sacchetti, by the teachers Pierfilippo Bucca, Giacomo Tufano and Gennaro Venanzi and by the Chief Postal Police Commissioner and of Communications Maria Laura Creazzo.
A day to delve into topics such as security, how to recognize and defend yourself from new scams, ways to illicitly take possession of social profiles, Deep web and dark web, online educational opportunities and digital responsibility.
The comparison between the students and professionals who analyzed the world of social media, increasing the level of awareness of the risks and dangers one may encounter, was interesting.
“A conscious use of the Internet and social networks is essential and we felt the need to offer our students this information event which fits into a broader framework of the interventions that the Academy has chosen to adopt – states director Sacchetti -. In a society where technology is now disruptive in everyday life, it is necessary to guarantee the safety and well-being of students, even when faced with the dangers deriving from surfing the internet. For this reason, our School as an educational institution, thanks also to the support of valid teachers and the Postal Police, wanted to raise young people’s awareness of a constructive and conscious use of the possibilities offered by new technologies”.
Chief Commissioner Creazzo is on the same wavelength and has repeatedly reiterated that “these meetings are fundamental for having a discussion with the kids but also, they are moments of reflection and represent a precious help in the individual’s growth process“.
The awareness that the contrasting action also involves structured forms of prevention has led the Academy of Fine Arts to launch awareness initiatives on the conscious use of the web and to involve the active forces of the territory to help our young people to stay away , recognize and manage the main cases of online risk.
