Descriptive text here

“Think of an animal. Empathize. Look at the world with your eyes, with your legs, with your wings, with your feathers, with your nose. What animal do you imagine yourself to be? Think about his house. Think about your city. Where do you want to live? How would he like to live with you? Which homes and cities are appropriate for their habits and how do you plan to share these spaces? Can you describe, draw, tell?”. This is what the girls and boys of the Simonazzi nursery schools of the Municipality of Modena, Cimabue of the Cresciamo Foundation, Lippi and Parmigianino of the Istituto comprensivo 6 did thanks to an educational project created together with the Order of Architects of Modena with the collaboration by Memo Educational Multicentre of the Municipality, Modena Zerosei and Cresci@mo Foundation.

The closing ceremony of the project will take place on Wednesday 17 April at 10am in the Aula Magna of the Lanfranco School, in via Valli 40 in Modena, with the presentation of ribbons and diplomas in “Animal Architecture” to the children who participated. In addition to representatives of the municipal administration, the director of Ic 6 Patrizia Fravolini, the president of the Order of Architects Sofia Cattinari, and the architect Claudio Sgarbi who conducted the experience in the nursery schools of Modena, also documented from photos and videos projected on the occasion.

The project takes place as part of the initiative of the National Council of Architects and the Reggio Children Foundation “Living in the country – the culture of demand” – VI Edition as 2023/2024. Activate educating communities: new generations, participation, cities”.

Educating community, diversity, ecology are the key words to imagine the coexistence between humans and animals and, starting from simple questions, introduce girls and boys to the feeling for the space built to share with animals.
