Over seventy vintage cars passed through the city this weekend for the twenty-seventh re-enactment of the Tuscan Cup organized by Camet, which is part of the events of the ASI Tricolore Circuit. The journey of this 2024 edition was entitled “From Chianti to Brunello”, precisely because it saw the crossing of the significant territories of the two Tuscan wines par excellence. The arrival in Siena, which precedes that of the 1000 Miglia by a month, was as always a triumph of colors and passion for motoring, which attracted the numerous tourists present in the city.

“It is always an honor to travel through the beauties of Tuscany – comments Giuliano Bensi, president of Camet Firenze -. This re-enactment is important for us, because in addition to showing off the beauties of the historic cars, it also allows travelers to visit unique places, such as Florence, Siena, Montalcino and to also taste the food and wine excellences of the area. A real cultural exchange. This year there are seventy cars, coming from all over Europe and our hope is to increase the number of participants every year”.

The re-enactment started on Friday from Piazzale Michelangelo in Florence and over the weekend saw the crossing of the Chianti hills, the Crete Senesi, the Val d’Orcia, until arriving in Montalcino. The Tuscan Cup then ended on Sunday in Siena, with the awards ceremony in the Sala delle Lupe.

“Historic motoring allows us to travel and return home with something extra – explains Alberto Scuro, national president of ASI -. We are witnesses of a history, because today we talk about sustainability and innovation, but to arrive at such reasoning it is important to know the pieces of the past, which marked a revolution in the 1900s for human life”.

After the Coppa Toscana, the roar of the engines will return to Piazza del Campo on 14 June with the arrival of the 1000 Miglia.
