Two municipal properties at the center of the project for social and cultural activities
The Municipality of Matera has published a public notice to stimulate the formation of a partnership between voluntary organisations, social promotion associations and third sector bodies. The objective is to present a project proposal to the 2024 Volunteering Call of the Fondazione con il Sud, with the support of tangible resources such as two municipal properties destined to become centers of social, cultural and educational activities.
The initiative was presented by the mayor Domenico Bennardi and the councilor for Heritage and Youth Policies Angela Mazzone, who underlined the importance of these structures for the community. The first property, “Sassi di Legalità” located in the Pianelle district, will be a center dedicated to the fight against school dropout and education for environmental sustainability, while the second, the “Spine Bianche district cultural center” on Via Dante, will be focused on support for young people with disabilities and cultural promotion.
The projects must incorporate strategies that enhance the principles of volunteering, such as hospitality and solidarity, and will be based on themes such as activism and legality, art and culture for inclusion, urban greenery and environmental sustainability. Proposals must be sent via PEC by April 22nd at 1pm.
Fondazione con il Sud, in collaboration with the Council of Banking Foundations of the South, supports this initiative by making available a total financing of approximately three million euros for projects that demonstrate a significant and lasting social impact.
