Messina: Theft and attempted theft against two shops, two arrests

Over the past weekend, following the intensification of control services aimed at preventing and combating crimes of a predatory nature, ordered by the Police Commissioner Annino GARGANO, the Volante police arrested a 29-year-old foreigner in flagrante delicto for attempted theft aggravated and a 20-year-old from Messina for aggravated theft. In both cases, two separate businesses in the city center were targeted by the two arrested subjects.

In the first case, the man had created an access gap inside the shop by breaking the glass of the main door, but had suddenly had to interrupt his action to make a hasty escape. Reached by the police a few blocks away, he was identified and arrested also thanks to the imprint left by the kicks kicked against the glass of the shop door, which fully corresponded to the shape of the sole of the shoes he was wearing at the time of the tracking down.

Even in the second case, the twenty-year-old from Messina, at night, had forced access with a large wire cutter and had managed to carry out the theft, removing numerous foodstuffs and then trying to cover his tracks. Immediately afterwards, however, the police officers, alerted by the activation of the anti-intrusion alarm system, identified him near the business and recovered the stolen goods, returning them to the rightful owner.

It should be noted, in any case, that the proceedings are still pending and that, in compliance with the principle of not guilty until a final conviction is reached, any further investigations that may become necessary will be carried out, also in the interests of the suspects.
