Billions of euros are arriving in Sicily. These are the FSC funds (development and cohesion fund), fundamental for the island and its businesses.

The agreement provides that Sicily will be allocated 6.8 billion euros. Once the funds allocated to the Strait Bridge and the waste-to-energy plants are removed, another 4.7 billion remain.
Schifani’s words on FSC funds
“Thank you to the continuous and profitable collaboration with the national government – the president of the Sicilian Region, Renato Schifani said today – the planning of the resources of the Development and Cohesion Fund assigned to Sicily is now in the final phase. The excellent relationship of comparison with Minister Fitto, a point of reference in recent months of our government, is bearing fruit. Soon, in fact, we will get to the subscription of the agreement with Prime Minister Meloni: almost seven billion euros which represent important resources for the development of our island”.
The projects
FSC funds are intended for many projects, especially infrastructure, urban redevelopment and cultural heritage. Projects which, if done ad hoc, could change the face of Sicily. In addition to the billion expected for infrastructure, there are 500 million at stake for business competitiveness, 1.2 billion for the environment and natural resources (net of the 800 million for waste-to-energy plants), 300 million for healthcare, 200 for cultural heritage and the same training, 100 for urban redevelopment.
