The tremors continue earthquake in the area of Fields Flegreiwarned by the population of Pozzuoli. The last event, recorded at 05:28, had magnitude Md 2.5, and was located at a depth of 3 km. Previously, at 04:38, the Municipality of Pozzuoli had issued the following note: “The Vesuvian Observatory has communicated to this administration that starting from 03:20 local time (UTC 01:20) on 04/16/2024 a sequence Of events seismic in the area of Phlegraean Fields. At the time of issue of this press release, 8 earthquakes with magnitude Md ≥ 0 and maximum magnitude Md = 2.3 ± 0.3 had been preliminarily detected“. “In consideration of the above, the Municipal Administration together with the Civil Protection of the Municipality of Pozzuoli is closely following the evolution of the ongoing seismic sequence and will provide subsequent updates until the conclusion of the phenomenon“.
