There Green House directive it’s law, but one question remains: who pays? After the first madness in which it was said that one could neither sell nor rent one’s home if energy efficiency was not carried out, in the latest version which was approved by Ecofin, therefore the European Council dedicated to economic issues, what it is said? It is said that by 2030 a percentage of the real estate assets of each member state will have to be made more efficient and then reach all residences by 2050.
Too bad that within this version of the directive it is not said where the funds will be found. If the estimates are incredible, in Italy alone we are talking about an average cost of approximately 60,000 euros at homewhich can even reach 80,000 euros depending on the interventions that need to be carried out.
So the question is very simple, also starting from the example of the super bonus which cost 135 billion euros to the Italian state coffers to renovate a percentage equal to 3-4% of our real estate assets. What will the weaker classes do? And again, if the member states were to invent other bonuses or provide resources to try to help citizens, where do they get the money from? State resources for energy efficiency would be removed from other spending items, such as the issue of healthcare and not only.
So here is the left, which has been the great up until now promoter of this directive, saying it was necessary for the good of the planet, he now realizes that evidently resources are needed which many citizens do not have and therefore it will be an unpopular measure, contrary to the weaker classes. Those citizens who in theory the left should care about. Not only. The progressive newspapers, a few days ago Republic and today also Alessandro Barbera on Pressthey also realize that if states were to invest public money for green homes, there would be no funding for other spending items.
Finally the left opens its eyes and realizes that green madness is part of that whole path, which unfortunately we know, of euro and eco madness.
