Casoria

The municipal administration unveils the new Boccaccio Park. In fact, in the early afternoon of Friday, a visit to the construction site was scheduled which will have the aim of verifying the progress of the plan, aimed at redeveloping a public space and included in the projects for the urban regeneration of Casoria, financed by the Pics funds.

In the three-hectare area in via Boccaccio, once for military use and close to the Casoria-Afragola railway line, a functional, connected, transformable park will be built, which respects the needs of the population and the characteristics of the place.

The design phases, in fact, entrusted to Progetto Verde, were carried out in collaboration with the Department of Architecture of Federico II, directed by Michelangelo Russo, and with the self-managed collective “Terranostra Occupata”, which managed the spontaneous park and is now the time has come to show the results of this journey.

In fact, from 3pm on Friday 19 April, 30 people will be able to visit the construction site, together with representatives of the company, the designers, the mayor Raffaele Bene and the councilor for Public Works Tommasina D’Onofrio.

To request participation in the visit it is necessary to contact the project manager Martina Solli at the email address [email protected] until places last. An on-site station will also be set up, in advance of the visiting time, to complete the accreditation procedure on site and allow entry to those who wish to visit the Park.

“The community of Casoria must regain possession of its spaces and for this reason we are working on the recovery of important slices of territory. Parco Boccaccio is one of the most fitting examples and symbols of this policy aimed at improving liveability by increasing the green spaces available to families” declared the mayor Raffaele Bene and the councilor Tommasina D’Onofrio in a note.
