Alice & Jerry People

Blue in Green presents
the first appointment of “Shades of Blue”, music festival:

ALICE & JERRY PEOPLE
special guest DARIO DEIDDA
“Fathers and Daughters 2.0”

On Saturday 20 April, at 9.00 pm, on the Bahr stage, inside the suggestive Stazione Marittima of Salerno, designed by Zaha Hadid, a special concert will be held, the opening evening of the “Shades of Blue” music festival, organized by the association Blue in Green by Valentina Ferrara and Enzo Nappo in collaboration with the owner of Bahr, Roberto Lumino. An intense live to celebrate an exceptional debut: for the first time in their Salerno, after a long absence, the talented singer-songwriter Alice Popolo and her father, Jerry Popolo, one of the most appreciated Italian saxophonists, will perform together, with all ‘active different
collaborations with the most important international jazz musicians such as Michel Petrucciani, Peter Erskine, Randy Brecker, Lee Konitz, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Stefano Bollani and many others. In the field of pop music, he has recorded and played live with various artists including Andrea Bocelli, Dionne Warwick, Antonello Venditti, Mango and Loredana Bertè.
Following last year’s successful debut with the song “Liev Man”, Alice Popolo recently presented her latest single entitled “Shine”. Both works were published on the Mine Music Label record label and distributed by Universal Music Italia.
After the success of the “Fathers and Daughters” event, held last January 4th at the Augusteo theater in Salerno, which saw two great names of Italian jazz perform, Danilo Rea and Roberto Gatto, together with their respective vocalist daughters, Blue in Green remains once again seduced by the artistic alchemy between a father and his daughter, re-proposing its magic through the “Fathers and Daughters 2.0” project by Alice & Jerry Popolo.
A very respectable band for this project, made up of some of the most representative jazz musicians from Campania, such as the drummer Mario De Paola and Alessandro La Corte, a multifaceted pianist and arranger, who has always ranged between different musical genres from which he has drawn inspiration for being able to develop new sounds in the jazz field. And for this important debut by Alice Popolo, as a special guest, an exceptional godfather: the one who is widely recognized as the greatest Italian bassist in the world, Dario Deidda.
Maestro Sandro Deidda will introduce the concert.

The concert is sponsored by the Province of Salerno, the Municipality of Salerno and the Cassa di Risparmio Salernitana Foundation,
All events include entry with a “food & beverage” formula.
