Speaking in the columns of Sportitalia.it, Tancredi Palmeri took stock of the situation regarding Antonio Conte, whose future is still to be written:
“The looming presence of Antonio Conte on the top benches in Italy has lasted for months now, but now we are there. Within a month and a half the uncertain situations of the various benches will be resolved, and Conte is the most excellent name available”
“There have already been contacts with Milan, they have not led to anything concrete due to management differences, which add to the impressive cost of hiring Conte (around 27 million for 3 years) which entails the absolute certainty of one’s convictions if they decide to take the path. At the same time, Milan have started to get straight results since January and the idea of replacing Pioli has receded. But not winning the Europa League would only be condoned in the event of elimination against Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen, being eliminated by Roma would instead weigh like a boulder on the creaking deck of the ship led by Pioli. And having Inter win the scudetto in the face in the derby would be the last drop of atomic weight capable of sinking the boat.” .
