“President Nicola Canonico had a meeting with the mayor Maria Aida Episcopo to provide clarifications on the current situation of the Rossoneri club”. This was reported in a note from the Rossoneri club.
“After having illustrated the general picture to the first citizen, Dr. Episcopo urged the president to remain at the helm of Calcio Foggia 1920 in order to guarantee the team’s registration in the next Lega Pro championship, and avoid the dispersion of energy and sacrifices made to date. However, the latter remained firm in his decisions and confirmed his desire to leave the club for known facts in the news as intimidation and insultsand reiterated that in the event that the shares are not collected, the club will not be registered for the 2024/2025 Lega Pro sports season, unless immediate financial interventions are made by the minority shareholder Map Consulting srl which is headed by Dr. Maria Assunta Pintus”.
Then they let it be known: “With regards to the general framework of the company in via Gioberti, the club was keen to clarify that the company shares they will be made available to any person interested in the acquisition, free of charge. Furthermore, President Canonico has also made it known that he is willing to renounce all financing and capital contributions made to the club by members, over €4,000,000.00, to which must be added €850,000.00 of sponsorships attributable to his companies ”.
The numbers
The debt of Calcio Foggia 1920 “corresponds – we read – to €6,289,043.00 as of 31/03/2024 but which net of shareholder loans, credits and bank availability is only €2,371,827.00, at of €2,577,518.00 inherited from the previous management as well as from approved budget data. It was also underlined that, in the last three years, Map Consulting (Dr. Pintus’s company) has paid the club exclusively the sum of €38,136.00, a figure which highlights the difference between the contributions made to Calcio Foggia 1920 to guarantee its survival ”.
Finally, it should be noted that, yesterday, the Court of Foggia declared that Calcio Foggia 1920 “has no judicial liquidation, bankruptcy, extraordinary administration or compulsory administrative liquidation procedures underway, nor have any applications been submitted for admission to the composition with creditors or for the approval of restructuring agreements”.

“The mayor of Foggia Maria Aida Episcopo met confidentially with the president of Calcio Foggia 1920 Nicola Canonico, who accepted the invitation formulated through a certified e-mail sent to the company in via Gioberti, after the announcement of the disengagement feared by the main shareholder himself ”, according to a press release issued by Palazzo di Città.
“The first citizen asked President Canonico, in light of the close deadline for the team’s registration for the next Lega Pro championship, to avoid an epilogue that would be detrimental to the club itself, the team, the fans and the city all. The president, who reiterated his position, specified that the company shares in his possession will be made available to any person interested in the acquisition, free of charge. And underlined the willingness to renounce the financing and capital contributions made to the club by members, an estimated figure of over 4 million euros to which must be added 850 thousand euros of sponsorships attributable to its companies”.
And again: “The debt situation informally illustrated by the company is 6,289,043 euros as of 31 March 2024, but net of shareholder loans, credits and current bank availability it is 2,371,827.00 euros, a front of 2,577,518.00 euros inherited from the previous management, as well as from approved budget data”.
