Juventus MVP Diego Monaldi author of a 19-point performance (2/4 from two and 5/10 from three) topped with 7 assists and 2 rebounds, for an overall rating of 20. Still absent from the Juventus ranks is Jason Clark, who remained at Udine as a precaution. Apu presents itself on the pitch with the quintet made up of: Monaldi, Arletti, Ikangi, Gaspardo, Cannon.
The match. The first points of the match were scored by Pollone: Udine reacted promptly with Gaspardo’s triple. Treviglio finds the advantage again with 5 consecutive points from Pacher (3-7). Ikangi and Gaspardo heat up Udine’s attack (7-9): the triple from an inspired Gaspardo gives the Bianconeri their first lead. Pacher from the line (2/2, foul by Gaspardo) and Vitali’s triple put the guests back ahead at 10-14 midway through the quarter. Barbante’s basket forces coach Vertemati to time out: De Laurentiis’ basket is not enough to stop Treviglio’s run, who finds 5 points in a row with Harris (14-20). Arletti brings the two teams back to one possession with 4 points and Da Ros sets the tie at 22-22 at the end of the first quarter. Guariglia scores the first points of his game at the start of the second quarter: Cerella fuels Treviglio’s mini-partial (22-26) to which Udine immediately responds with Cannon. The home team completed the comeback with an 8-2 run closed by baskets from Gaspardo and De Laurentiis (30-28). Gaspardo’s excellent game continues, dragging the Bianconeri up to +6: Arletti responds to Miaschi and Apu takes the lead with a score of 40-33 at halftime after Monaldi’s triple.
Treviglio returns to the field and immediately tries to close the gap with 4 points from Harris (45-39). However, Monaldi’s triple arrives and turns off the guests’ half. Cannon completes a three-point play (1/1, foul by Guariglia) for Udine’s first double-digit lead. Barbante first, Pollone then, Treviglio returns to -7 (51-44). Barbante continues to find points from the paint, but here are two baskets from the arc by captain Monaldi for +13 (59-46). Guariglia interrupts the opponent’s partial (1/2 to free throws, foul by Da Ros), but Monaldi’s 5th triple of the match arrives. Vitali returns to move the net from the arc (62-50): Harris completes a three-point play (1/1, foul by Cannon), but Udine scores again with Monaldi and Ikangi. With the result 67-53 with three minutes to go, Harris scores 4 points in a row, but Monaldi first scores with penetration and, in the following action, serves an assist for Da Ros. The guests fell back to within a double-digit deficit one minute from the end: after the timeout called by coach Giuri broke free with his shot (71-65), but Ikangi was cool with his free throws (2/2) and Udine won the match.
