The center forward and driving force of Venezia Joel Pohjanpalo spoke to the microphones of Sky Sports focusing on his arrival in the lagoon and the excellent impact with the environment: “Before coming here I played for a long time in Germany where the mentality is different than the Italian one. Then I spent a year in Turkey and it was different there too and the place where we lived with my wife was different from Venice obviously. We wanted a change, a new chapter in our lives and when there was the opportunity to come to Venice it was immediately clear for us that we would take it.”
Then there is room for renewal and the dream of promotion: “After the first season in which we did very well and created a great connection with the team, the club and the city. It was an easy choice for me to renew the contract (until 2027 Ed.). I am very grateful to the president and the sporting director, we found a good agreement for everything and now, six months later, we are getting very close to our dream.”
In closing, however, the Finn does not dissolve his reservations about his future: “We hope to achieve it together and then we’ll see what happensbut still I can say that it was a wonderful time here in Venice, I experienced one of the best moments of my career”
