Us Livorno – Trestina 2-1. Amaranth victory in the last at Picchi

Three points that are worth the playoffs. The Amaranths close their home championship with a victory signed by Frati (in the first half) and Marinari which made Di Nolfo’s temporary equalizer in vain in the second half. Pascali’s men – more convincing than their latest depressing outings – by virtue of the results of their competitors, officially enter the post season one turn early.

At the start of the match, the Amaranths were the first to appear menacingly in the last twenty metres. After five minutes Frati would already have the lead ball at his feet but – thanks to Rossetti – the number 18 shoots out at Pollini who is beaten. At the second chance, however, the Labronian striker makes no mistake and puts his team ahead with a left-footed shot from outside the area which, thanks to an obvious duck by Pollini, finds its way into the goal. The goal charges Pascali’s men but in the second half of the first half it is the guests who first become dangerous with a almost an own goal from Camara and then with a razor from Conti that shaves Albieri’s post. At the end of the first half Tanasa and Ronchi try on one side (well done by Pollini in both cases) and Farneti on the other, but the result doesn’t break the deadlock.

In the second half the Umbrians raised their center of gravity and found the equalizer around the hour mark with Di Nolfo, good at escaping Curcio and chilling Albieri with a left foot near the post from a few steps away. However, not even two minutes pass before Luci and his teammates find the equalizer. Nardi earns a free kick from the midfield and touches it with malice for Marinari, who doesn’t think twice about unloading a precise right-footed shot from the edge of the area which leaves Pollini no chance. The Amaranths would also have the opportunity to score the hat-trick with Camara who however sensationally shoots wide from a few meters away. Trestina believes in a draw until the end but the result does not change before the final whistle. Now the last match at Orvietana’s home to decide the final position in terms of the playoffs. In the meantime, Pianese wins the championship and sets sail on the ship headed towards Serie C. With great regret of the club of patron Esciua, who could and, certainly, should have played a role of a completely different importance in a group that was nothing short of within reach.

The report cards:

Albieri 6: He responds present in those few times that Trestina concludes in his area.

Camera 5.5: He causes panic when he sinks, the problem is that he does so too little over the course of 90 minutes. Among other things, he misses a delicious chance a few steps from the goal on a serve from Curcio.

Brenna 6: All in all, it contains Tascini’s verve well, always forced to receive with his back to goal.

Ronchi 6: Like above.

Curcio 6: He often comes forward from midfield and serves a chocolate for Camara who wastes it. Bad for Di Nolfo’s equalizer, who runs away from him too easily (from 68′ Carcani sv).

Tanasa 6: He comes close to scoring at the end of the first half, otherwise not much is noticeable in both phases. Sufficient (from 46′ Bellini 6.5: Its entrance brings liveliness to the Amaranth home. He also tries from outside but Pollini responds present).

Lights 6: On the day of his 400th appearance in the Livorno shirt, he appears not very lucid at the start when he loses a few balls that aren’t his fault, but gradually recovers between one intervention and another in the midfield.

Nardi 6.5: Intelligent quick touch for Marinari who finishes in the best way. He takes part in all the most dangerous actions of the Amaranths, he runs like a man possessed until the final whistle. Nice try.

Friars 6.5: He unlocks the match with his usual left foot (also thanks to Pollini’s duck). Very active in the first 45 minutes, in the second half he dropped as the minutes passed but had time to come close to scoring a brace from a free kick before the substitution (from 80′ Cori sv)

Sailors 7: Among the most active in the first half, he seemed to disappear a bit from the radar in the second half but found personal joy at the hour mark with an unstoppable right-footed shot for Pollini (from 73′ Pavlenko sv)

Lipsticks 5.5: A couple of good blocks for Frati and little else in the hour of play in which he is on the pitch. He doesn’t have many opportunities to hurt but he doesn’t do anything to create them (from 65′ Giordani 5.5: Not a great entrance. He wastes a good opportunity and proves too imprecise when it comes down to it)

Pascali 6: He bids farewell to his fans with a victory that certifies a place in the playoffs. For the rest, the team displays the usual difficulties even if at least it shows a little more character than a few weeks ago.
