The reasons that led him to damage the devices and screens of the charging stations of a petrol station located in Correggio, using the same dispenser in the criminal action, are not known. The man was seen by some passers-by who immediately alerted 112, filming the license plate of the alleged attacker as he fled.

The soldiers from the Correggio station immediately started looking for the man, managing to track him down not far from the petrol station. The origin of the events last February 20th, when some citizens alerted 112 reporting the presence of a man in a petrol station who was smashing the screens and devices of the petrol stations, with the use of the dispenser gun. Once on site the military interviewed the witnesses, one of whom had filmed the license plate of the car in which the alleged perpetrator had left, handing the video over to the military. The police immediately began searching for the alleged perpetrator of the vandalism raid, managing to locate him a short distance away. Once reached, the soldiers proceeded with the identification, but the man himself – a 53-year-old resident in a municipality in the Reggio Emilia area – in a clear state of psychophysical alteration, began to rail against them and to have aggressive and uncooperative attitudes, to the point that the intervention of another patrol was required. The man was taken to the barracks for further investigations and following the investigative findings, corroborated by witness statements and thanks also to the video produced, the Correggio military acquired elements regarding his alleged responsibility against the man, a circumstance for which he was reported to the Reggio Emilia prosecutor’s office on charges of aggravated damage.

The following day the victim went to the offices of the Correggio barracks to formalize the damage report, reporting that the economic damage suffered amounted to over 10 thousand euros.
