From July 2021 to December 2023, the Youth Information Center of the Municipality of Modena provided responses, in person, by telephone, email and video call, to 5,204 boys and girls seeking information and guidance on work, training, volunteering, international mobility and psychophysical well-being . These first meetings were followed by 884 in-depth personal interviews to accompany the young people on the path undertaken, alongside group training opportunities, organized with the Europe Direct centre, to inform on study, training or volunteering opportunities abroad. And today, to further increase awareness and promote the use of the service offered, Informagiovani is launching a new information campaign which will continue until May and will be disseminated mainly on social media.

The activity data of the municipal Youth Information since July 2021, the year in which the service was reorganised, and the contents of the new promotional campaign were presented this morning, Friday 29 March, in the Europa Gallery, during a press conference at which they attended by the councilor for Culture and Youth Policies Andrea Bortolamasi, Corrado Nuccini, who oversaw the communication campaign, and Chiara Bonacini, contact person for the service.

As Councilor Bortolamasi underlined, “proximity, participation and protagonism are the three pillars of the actions we have implemented to renew youth policy services. Through a plan, built with and for the younger generations and approved by the City Council, which has redefined the activities of Informagiovani making it a point of reference where one can get information, train and approach the world of work which is the most important tool for creating opportunities for growth and emancipation. We want – he concluded – for the future to continue to live here and this form of accompaniment of young people is one of the tools we are using”.

The reorganization of the service in 2021 mainly responded to a growing fragility of young people, particularly affected by the consequences of the pandemic, and to a greater need to be accompanied on training and job orientation paths through qualified information. The Informagiovani has therefore positioned itself as a hub within a network of collaborations (with the Employment Agency, Chamber of Commerce, Local Health Authority, Arter, Ergo) for a more complete care of the young people. A young operator was selected to dedicate to the specific activity of informing users and a multi-channel service was organised, accessible in person, by email, by telephone and via video call. The opening hours of the service, which is located at the Urp, in Piazza Grande 17, are from Monday to Saturday, from 9am to 1pm, and on Mondays and Thursdays also from 2pm to 6pm, but all requests arriving at front office or on the telephone of the Piazza Grande services (which have longer opening hours) get an initial response which also provides directions for direct contact and for making an appointment (tel. 059 20312; whatsapp 334 3844490; informagiovani4. [email protected]).

The service is divided into first and second level activities: the first level consists of welcoming young people and guiding them in accessing information and opportunities. In this phase the greatest number of questions concerns work (2,455 out of a total of 5,204) and training (1,480). This is followed by requests for information on international mobility (397), volunteering (286), well-being (267) and entrepreneurship (139). The second level involves taking charge of the user with individual interviews and proposals for personal paths which also includes a phase of verification of the path started, with follow up calls.

Continuously updated information can also be found on the Informagiovani portal (www.comune.modena.it/informagiovani) which also relaunches the various opportunities offered throughout the national territory and the training courses (free or paid) in the provincial territory. Together with the portal, since February this year, there is also a fortnightly newsletter with extraordinary single-theme editions in case of particularly relevant news such as, for example, the release of notices for the voluntary civil service.

The new campaign is part of this context to further promote the service starting these days and which will continue until mid-May. The campaign includes sponsored adverts on Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok Città di Modena with themed videos and graphics, and promotional reels (created by Spot Modena), the activation of an Instagram Informagiovani 4.0 channel, the strengthening of the Municipality of Modena website , a flyer, promotional postcards and a bookmark.
